New knitting project

I have gotten the materials together to make the Topiary scarf from Brooklyn Tweed. I can't wait
to see how it turns out. I chose Soot as my color and if this works out well, I plan to make the other two sizes (medium and large wraps) in other colors.

I chose this project to work on while I will be home for a couple of weeks after having my four wisdom teeth removed at the end of this week. I still still have my socks but I also wanted another in the event that I finished the socks or got so tired of them I didn't want to ever see them again.

So far....

...the only resolution/goal I have kept is knitting every single day. My January socks have the toe completed and 25 rounds done - I have tried to make a calendar of when to work on each section to make sure I get one pair done in the month. I hope to be much faster by the time December 2012 gets here.

Welcome 2012

I am hoping to knit one pair of socks each month during 2102 - this will be my first pair. Yarn is '1st Anniversary 2011' from Lorna's Laces @ Jimmy Beans Wool.

Here is the rest of my sock yarn bagged up and ready to go.

Lady of the Flag by Mirabilia - making this for my niece K and her husband who is an MP in the Army - it will be a welcome back to the states gift in December 2012 when they return from Italy.

This is K's sock from 2011 - I was hoping to finish it by year's end but I couldn't do it. I had to rip it back 6 times and get it where it is now. But I hope to finish it up and complete the matching sock by end of January.

Just starting reading this one today. I'm really getting into Agatha Christie's novels and movies that have been made with David Suchet as HP and I"m loving Julie McKenzie as Miss Marple.

Here's to 2012 - may she be the best year yet.
