Bread-making trip

I am constantly on the lookout for new bread recipes. I did something wrong with this one, as it should be bigger, but oh well. At least I tried.

What I've been doing the past few days....

Chalkboard Door

I was able to take a couple of days after returning from a vacation with my parents (i.e. I was their driver) to finally paint the back of the door in my TV room with chalkboard paint. I've had a quart can of the stuff waiting for a project and I decided to paint the entire door with it instead of just a small section.

Finally Fall

I finally made curtains for my bedroom today, summer ones. And fall has now started. Hopefully I can get new ones made (heavier material) for winter. But I have to admit that I love the aqua color of this fabric. I just wish now I had bought more of it so I can make something else.

I'm currently working on the Scruffily quilt for my niece Kait who is currently living in Italy with her MP hubby.

Getting ready for vacation

Three more days and I will have 9 days off! Two weekends, Memorial Day, and 4 workweek days. Already this week is dragging and I'm not even half way through it.

But I've been making plans and lists. I'm planning to repaint my bathroom. I'm buying the paint on Friday, along with some other items to get through the week.

I'm also hoping to get some writing done. I need to rework the novel I wrote last November for NaNoWriMo 2009. I need to turn it into three separate novels, rework four timelines (these are time travel) and decide what how to end it. Lots to do in a few days.

Upcoming vacation

I finally have a week off coming up in June and I'm hoping to make the most of it. I want to take this desk and strip it then repaint it white, with aqua drawers and top. I'm also planning to repaint my bedroom.

Great Day

Today was nice here in at my home in the country. I went to church with my mom and later we went to pick up some medicine for her, so I was able to run into JoAnn Fabrics and buy some goodies. My friend Teresa is bringing me a desk so I can put my sewing machine back up. The desk will have some drawers for storing some sewing supplies. I can't wait to get it.

I'm planning to make some new curtains for my bedroom. I have store bought ones now, and since I'm into doing my own thing, I want to make my own now. I bought the linen to make the curtains that I would love to look at and give my room a nice soft touch. Now to be on the lookout for a chair I can learn to reupholster.

Right now I'm waiting on some homemade vanilla ice cream. I'm using the Cuisinart ice cream maker found here: http://www.cuisinart.com/products/ice_cream/ice-20r.html - it is awesome - no more ice or rock salt to buy to get the ice cream!!!

I live in the country and have many interests. Too many, if the truth be told. I like knitting, sewing, writing mysteries, and living the best life I can.
